On March 13th, Grammy-winning South African artist Tyla shared a video featuring K-pop idol Lisa (Blackpink) on her personal Instagram account. In the video, Tyla sings her newly released song “ART,” while K-pop star Lisa harmonizes along to the gentle melody.
The video quickly went viral on social media. K-pop fans have been eagerly speculating about the possibility of a collaboration between the two artists. Even the official account of The Recording Academy Grammy left a comment expressing that the world is eagerly anticipating the collaboration of the two artists.
Recently, in an interview with Reuters, when asked about plans to collaborate with Lisa, Tyla confirmed: “We have discussed composing a song together, so the collaboration plan is definitely in place.”
At the prestigious Grammy Awards 2024, held in February this year, 22-year-old South African singer-songwriter Tyla won the Outstanding African Music Performance award with her hit song “Water” – a track that made Tyla the first South African artist to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart since 1968, peaking at number 7.
Lisa is a member of the globally renowned K-pop girl group, Blackpink. Apart from Blackpink’s impressive records, Lisa also has an impressive solo career.
