The former NFL cornerback was stopped by police in Bellevue, WA, at 2:00 am for driving at 79 mph in a 60 mph zone. During the stop, officers questioned Sherman about his alcohol consumption prior to driving.

Sherman admitted to having consumed two margaritas, leading to his arrest on suspicion of DUI. Initially omitted from early reports, Sherman’s confession later came to light. He also agreed to undergo voluntary tests upon police request, although the specific nature of these tests was not disclosed (he declined to take a breathalyzer test). Subsequently, Sherman was booked into King County Jail at 4:51 a.m. Pacific Time on Saturday.

A district judge determined there was sufficient probable cause to charge Sherman with DUI, scheduling a court date for today. Currently, no bail has been set, and Sherman has not issued any statements regarding the incident.

This marks the second recent arrest for Sherman. In 2022, he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges following an incident where he crashed his vehicle in a construction zone and attempted to enter his in-laws’ home unlawfully.

Following his sentencing, Sherman expressed profound regret for his actions, acknowledging the support of his community despite his mistakes.

Sherman, who won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks in 2013 and also played for the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, now works for Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football” and is a regular contributor on FS1’s “Undisputed.”
